Fox 4 News reports that an internet user posted a picture of instructions he found just outside the bathroom in Hooters Africa last January 11. It reads:

The post quickly got a lot of attention from other internet users, and it has, since, been shared 490,459 times to date. It is amazing. Both the idea and the PR stunt (if we ignore the fact internet ruined it since now everybody, including your bad date, knows about it).

Safety During Dates

The best thing about these instructions is that it’s not just for a bad date. This secret code is also for those on a  date who do not feel comfortable or safe. If you feel that you are not safe, you can order an angel shot with lime at the bar, and the bartender will call the police discreetly.

Where It Started

According to the Business Insider, the “concept seemed to have originated at Iberian Rooster, located in St. Petersburg, Florida.” The trend has also seemed to have caught on with several restaurants posting a message similar or almost identical to the one found in Hooters Africa.
